I have a class in college, which I seemed to be hooked on to most of the people outside Philippines probably haven’t heard of such thing or didn’t think that it existed, it’s Philippine Art History.
My teacher has said that, what we see now isn’t the culture we once had, it wasn’t filipino-like, the essence of Filipinoness wasn’t there, my view on my country today has change quite dramatically, I was on the verge of accepting the fact that we are like this: the so-called jejemons, the mas media shows our cultural, all those tele dramas in the TV are what filipino’s do and I almost accepted the really bad comments from other countries about mine. Entering her class really change me, I didn’t want to accept it but she was right, her experience from other people has already convinced me.
A lot of people have been criticizing my country, how big of a mess it is, Yes it is a mess, that’s because there is something wrong with the people and they don’t seem to have opened their eyes to what’s in front of them. We can change, It’s just that what I see today people depend to much on the mas media because they give away money or something, they want instant cash so easily yet we are so corrupted to, My country isn’t poor, we have lots of resources, it’s just that we don’t know how to use it or have the right equipment or probably money to get these resources.
I love my country because we have such a colorful country and I believe we will go a long way if we just change how the people move about, I love everything Filipino-that is my culture, the food, the people- we all just need to work hard.
I can’t explain much~damn
